Sondai Fort Trek

"Where the rain writes verses on ancient stone,
And each step echoes a forgotten tale—
Sondai rises not to conquer, but to call,
Inviting the soul to climb, pause, and exhale."

Sondai Summit Monsoon Trek

A Hidden Gem in the Karjat Highlands

Nestled in the lush folds of the Karjat region, Sondai Fort rises modestly at 1200 ft (366 m) above sea level, yet offers a monsoon trekking experience that’s anything but ordinary. Often overshadowed by its more famous neighbors—Rajmachi, Irshalgad, Peb, Kothaligad, and Bhimshankar—Sondai remains a quiet sentinel of the Sahyadris, waiting to be discovered by those who seek solitude, mist, and the thrill of ascent.

The trail begins from Sondewadi village, winding through gentle slopes and small plateaus that come alive with monsoon greenery.
