Dates: December 16, 17 and 18, 2011.  (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).
(We start on Dec 15, Thursday Night).
We will be back on Dec 18 late night or Dec 19 early hour..

Who can participate? (Anyone with basic fitness and no prior chronic illness)
.. no prior training required, event will be managed by experienced professionals..









3 Nights and 3 Days 


Travel


Friday (Night 1) by train sleeper class or by Luxury Bus. (First preference Train travel).
Sunday Night 3) by train sleeper class expected to reach Mumbai by 6:00 am on monday morning


Activities

Activity under the guidance of mountaineering a guru, who is the winner of several National and State level awards.






Schedule
Night 1 - Thursday Night (Departure)
10.30 pm – Sleeper train or Luxury Bus


Day 1 - Friday (Rock Climbing)


and Beach Volley Ball

Day 2 -  Saturday (Cliff Rappelling) and Dip in the sea


Day 3 - (Caving or Spelunking)


Early Evening Board Train / Bus







Camp Fee:


Rs.5750/- per head.


Includes:


Travel - by Train or Bus, Local transfer from Hotel to Train/Bus Depot, From Hotel to Adventure Site
Stay Non-Ac Rooms Triple Sharing, 
Food (3 Breakfast, 3 Lunch, 2 Dinner and 3 Hi-Tea during the event at the Hotel).  
Food will be standard Veg Thali.


Non-Veg food can be organised if ordered in advance for additional cost.


(Book Well in advance we have to reserve your train/bus tickets/ reserve rooms in hotels.  We also have limited capacity due to extreme nature of adventure; reservation will be done purely on first-cum-first basis).


100% advance payment for confirmation. 


Exclusions:


Food during travel between Mumbai to Ratnagiri is not included
Cost of Fish or any other non-standard item ordered by participants will be borne by them.
Bottled Water; Beverages is not included in the budget
Any other transport other than one clarified above is not included 
Any thing that is not included is excluded from the budget.

Mandatory Check list for camp:


Clothes: Carry one pair of extra clothes per day.  Do not carry heavy and tight fitting clothes.  
(Recommended Track Pants, Tights, Three Fourth Pants, Full Sleeves T-Shirt, Beach Wear, Socks, Canvas Shoes or good trekking shoes, Spare floaters or slippers, Sun Glasses, Cap or Hat, Sun Screen, Mosquito Repellent)..

Mid meal snacks:  Carry some mid-meal snacks to munch on during the day.  They also keep you energized.  Good examples are dry fruits, fresh fruits, chocolates, biscuits, energy bars, etc.

Toiletries: Personal hygiene items like a small soap, hand sanitizer, moisturizing cream, sunscreen, towel, shaving kit etc.


Other mandatory camping items: Torch, pocket knife, plate, cutlery, mug, mirror, 2 hand towels, One Towel, Soap, Shampoo etc.

Goodies: (Optional Items) Camera, Binoculars and Note pad


Carry all your belongings in a back pack.  Also carry an extra bag (small nap sack) to carry water and other personal items you may need during the camp. The site where the activities will be conducted shall be 30 minutes drive from our place of stay.

How to prepare your self for any adventure?




Fitness – Most important
  1. Start walks 3 to 4 times per week; go for 45 minutes to 60 minutes brisk walk. If you can go for walks with your backpack or a smaller one nothing like it.
  2. Do stretching exercise (stiff body can break down easily).
  3. Built strength training (weights or GYM or at least do Surya Namaskar; Pushups; Squats and Stomach Crunches). 20 minutes 3 times per week is OK.
  4. Eat good food (have 3 to 4 servings of vegetable or fruit salads per day).
  5. Pranayam – Breathing exercise for developing stronger lungs.
  6. If you have purchased a new shoe for trek, start wearing it at least 10 to 15 days in advance to get used to the new shoe.

Few moments of Truth...



Standing at the edge of the cliff I saw an ant size man looking up,
I did not have to strain my ears to listen 
to the wooofering aggression of the coastal winds 
and the raising applaud of the waves.. 
my eyes had developed magnified vision 
and could clearly see the surf of the water, 
 a tingly sensation developed under my feet, 
cheeks were a blush of red, 
adrenaline juice was ready to explode in my belly, 
all my senses were 100% alert, 
time froze in suspense as I turned around taking my position to take first few steps on the cliff face.. 
for true prayers that were to come of my heart it should be now, 
for it was the moment of truth now that it was my turn to walk down the great cliff hanger path..
