Looking for a refreshing escape from the city’s chaos? The Hidden Jungle Madap Waterfall Trails is your perfect weekend getaway. Nestled in the verdant hills just off the Mumbai–Pune Expressway, this lesser-known trail offers a stunning blend of nature, adventure, and tranquility.

Getting There

The trail begins near Madap village, a serene hamlet tucked away in the Western Ghats.

Tentative Schedule

  • 6:30 AM – Andheri West
  • 6:40 AM – Vile Parle East / Santacruz (Western Express Highway)
  • 7:00 AM – Vashi (Station Road Junction)
  • 7:45 AM – McDonald’s at Expressway entrance (car meet-up)
  • 8:50 AM – Arrival at base village + chai & kanda poha
  • Morning Trek: Streams, cascades, hills, valleys — be ready to be soaked!
  • 9:30 AM - Trek starts
  • 3:00 PM – Late lunch near base village
  • 4:30 PM – Start return journey
  • 7:30 PM – Back in Mumbai

Budget

₹1500 per person (inclusive of GST)

Includes:

  • Private AC transport (Mumbai–Madap–Mumbai)
  • Morning tea & kanda poha
  • Veg thali lunch (2 veggies, dal, rice, chapatis, salad, papad, pickle, sewai)
  • Note: If they prices of Diesel increase; the prices will go up marginally proportional to the impact due to diesel/oil cost going up.

Trek Grade: Easy to Moderate

Endurance - Medium Grade

Distance: to be covered during total trek: Around 6 to 7 KM.
Terrain: Hilly terains; few slopes are expected to be moderately steep. (non-technical)
during monsoon, many rock patches will be slippery (this is true for all mountains and hills across Maharashtra)
Other things to be factored: You will have to cross and wade across several cascades and streams.
Conditions: Wet and Humid conditions (expect to be wet and drenched by the end of the day).
















Trek Checklist

Pack smart for a safe & splashy adventure:

  • Dry-fit full-sleeve T-shirt + lightweight track pants/leggings
  • Carry Swim ready wear for dips
  • Towels (light + hand towel)
  • Rain gear (poncho/raincoat + waterproof cap)
  • Sun cap/hat
  • Flashlight/headlamp + spare batteries
  • 2L water per person
  • Backpack with double-bagged items to stay dry
  • Some healthy snacks for the trek, as our lunch will be late.

Optional: medical kit, mosquito repellent, camera/phone (waterproof pouch).

  • Travel in small groups to minimize impact
  • Leave only footprints, take only memories
  • Carry back all trash — no littering
  • Respect local flora, fauna, and communities
